big ears 2018

I had the pleasure of attending Big Ears 2018 in Knoxville this past weekend. Simply put, it was an incredible four days of hearing sounds of all sorts with like-minded listeners, and an overall experience that exceeded all expectations. I'm sad it's over and can't wait to return next year.

Highlights included witnessing an unforgettable performance by Diamanda Galás, falling mesmerized for 40 minutes by Okkyung Lee's cello, and struggling to decipher the genius of Evan Parker.
